MARA, the ROS 2.0 modular cobot created by Acutronic Robotics, was showcased by Xilinx at SPS IPC Drives 2018 in Nuremberg.
The first modular cobot with the Robot Operating System (ROS 2.0) running into each of its actuators, sensors and other modules, will hit the market and be ready for purchase worldwide from the 10th of December.
MARA’s (Modular Articulated Robotic Arm) modularity works through the H-ROS SoM, the hardware device that makes any robot part compatible and interoperable with others, regardless of its vendor.
Built out of individual modules that natively run ROS 2.0, MARA can be extended just by adding robot parts. The system is also scalable: from one module to even hundreds of them plugged together. This empowers new possibilities and applications in the professional landscape of robotics.
